Rana grew up in Chapai Nawabganj, a district in Bangladesh, and began playing cricket in 2020. After finishing his Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) the same year, he joined a cricket academy in Rajshahi to train.

He started as a net bowler, helping Rajshahi Division batters practice, but his fast bowling skills caught the attention of scouts, who were impressed by his speed and talent. He was born on 2 October 2002. He is 22 years old as of 2024. His parents’ information is not available. 

Nahid is a tall cricketer, standing at 6 feet 5 inches (196 cm). He bats and bowls with his right hand and is known for his fast bowling. His main role in the team is as a bowler. In September 2023, Nahid was selected to be part of Bangladesh’s team for the 2023 Asian Games.

Domestic Career:- 

Rana played his first first-class cricket match on October 31, 2021, representing Rajshahi Division in the 2021–22 National Cricket League. Exactly a year later, on October 31, 2022, he achieved his first five-wicket haul in first-class cricket while playing against Barishal Division in the 2022–23 National Cricket League.

In January 2023, Nahid was picked to play for the Khulna Tigers in the 2022–23 Bangladesh Premier League. In that tournament, he played his first Twenty20 match on January 24, 2023, for the Khulna Tigers.

Later, on March 21, 2023, he made his List A debut, playing for Shinepukur Cricket Club in the 2022–23 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League.

International Career

In March 2024, Nahid was selected for the first time to join Bangladesh’s Test squad for their series against Sri Lanka. He made his Test debut on March 22, 2024, against Sri Lanka, where he impressed by bowling 73% of his deliveries at speeds over 140 kph.

In the second innings of that match, he took 4 wickets, playing a key role in a historic win for Bangladesh. Later, on January 12, 2025, he was included in Bangladesh’s squad for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.

In first-class cricket, Nahid has played 10 matches so far. He has bowled 1,477 balls and taken 46 wickets, with an impressive average of 19.76 runs per wicket.
