He attended The John Fisher School and Whitgift School before playing first-class cricket for Durham MCC University while studying at Durham University. Evans graduated from the Surrey County Cricket Club Academy in 2007 and made his first-class debut for Surrey in 2009.
He later played for Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, and Sussex in county cricket. Known as a right-handed top-order batsman, Evans has also been part of various global Twenty20 leagues since 2019.
