Lallianzuala Chhangte is an Indian football player who plays as a winger for Mumbai City in the Indian Super League and for the Indian national team. He was named the AIFF Men’s Player of the Year for the 2022-23 season.

Lallianzuala Chhangte was born on June 8, 1997, in Lunglei, Mizoram, India. He is a professional footballer who won the AIFF Men’s Player of the Year award for the 2022-23 season. Chhangte started playing football when he was in first grade.
His brother, CVL Remtluanga, is also a footballer and currently plays for the reserve team of Odisha FC. Chhangte has mentioned that his favorite footballers are Frank Lampard from England and Cristiano Ronaldo from Portugal.

Lallianzuala Chhangte Football Career
In 2014, Lallianzuala Chhangte joined DSK Shivajians’s Liverpool International Football Academy to play for their under-18 team in the 2014-15 I-League U19 season. He ended the season as the league’s top scorer with 16 goals and helped his team reach the final round, where they finished in 7th place.
In the 2016 Indian Super League season, Lallianzuala Chhangte was loaned to NorthEast United FC, where he made his professional debut.
He played only one match for the club, coming on as a substitute for Robin Gurung in the 74th minute during a game against Mumbai City FC on November 5, 2016. NorthEast United lost the match 0-1.
In the 2017-18 Indian Super League season, Delhi Dynamos (now Odisha FC) selected Lallianzuala Chhangte from the draft for 27 lakh rupees. He scored a goal in his debut match for the club on November 22, 2017, during their first game of the season against FC Pune City.
In January 2022, Lallianzuala Chhangte joined Mumbai City FC on a six-month loan. They had an agreement that he would officially join the club at the end of the season. Lallianzuala Chhangte started the 2023-24 season with a 0-2 loss to Nassaji Mazandaran in the AFC Champions League.
He played for India’s U19 team during the 2016 AFC U-19 Championship qualification, appearing in three games in a disappointing campaign. He made his debut for the Indian national team on December 25, 2015, against Sri Lanka, coming on as a substitute for Robin Singh in the 77th minute of the match, which India won 2-0.
Chhangte was selected for the Indian team for the 2019 Intercontinental Cup. On July 13, 2019, he scored a goal in India’s second match against North Korea, although India was losing 0-3 at the time and eventually lost the game 2-5. Due to his impressive performance in the ISL, he was included in the squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
